Although the NEWroscience 2018 program has a great deal of themes in the Epilepsies, Complex Systems and Comorbidities, the Abstracts submission is open to other themes related to Neuroscience.

Participants will be allowed as co-authors in several posters, but only one as the first author in either Neuroscience or Epilepsy categories. Neuroscience and Epilepsy Abstracts will be evaluated by a Scientific Committee and Neuroscience-Visual Arts Abstracts will be evaluated by a Neuroscience-Arts Committee. Both Committees have total autonomy for their decisions.

The “International Symposium NEWroscience 2018 – Looking for Epilepsy Along Centuries and Across Cultures From Demons and Blessings to Brain Complex Networks and DNA Editing” is accepting three forms of Abstracts to be presented as posters:

  • Abstracts will be accepted until July 21st
  • Results on July 30th
  • Reconsideration until August 15th

Neuroscience Abstracts must be written in English, with 500 words maximum, divided in sections: “Rationale”, “Methods”, “Results” and “Discussion/Conclusions”. Authors, Affiliations, Financial Support, Conflicts of Interest Disclosure and Acknowledgements must not be taken into account in the 500 words limit. Citations should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. If this is the case, they must be placed as: First Author or Authors et al., Journal, Volume, Initial Page and Year. No Figures, Tables or Schemes are accepted in the Abstract. *Accepted Abstracts will be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.

3NEUROSCIENCE-VISUAL ARTS ABSTRACTS
WITH IMAGES

For the Neuroscience-Visual Arts Abstracts authors must send TIFF or JPEG images with 20 cm x 20 cm maximum and resolution minimum of 300 dpi. This Abstract must contain only images. Text such as Title and Descriptions (including technical information concerning the acquisition/creation of the image) must be written in English and will be considered as poster legend, with 100 words maximum. It will be accepted only original material.

*Only the Neuroscience-Art Abstracts, accepted for presentation as posters and that win the three first Prizes will be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.

Observation: A maximum of 150 Abstracts will be accepted to be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.
